Stephen G. Silver, MD is a skilled, board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, shoulder, elbow and knee injuries. He gives his patients 100% of his individual attention, and he makes sure they understand his diagnosis and all their different treatment options.
Dr. Silver has served as team physician for the NBA Brooklyn Nets since 2000, including two trips to the finals. He graduated from New York Medical College (1994) at the top of his class and was elected to the academic honor society Alpha Omega Alpha his junior year.
After completing his residency at NYU (1999), Dr. Silver accepted a fellowship with Dr. Craig Morgan who pioneered arthroscopic techniques for cartilage transplantation and labral repair, particularly in Major League Baseball pitchers.
As a Sports Fellow of Dr. Arthur Bartolozzi, he participated in the care of the Philadelphia Flyers and Eagles. Dr. Silver is a member of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
In addition to being long active in working with professional and recreational athletes, Dr. Silver also treats chronic degenerative arthritis as well as acute traumatic injuries including fractures of the clavicle, elbow and shoulder.
